Arclin has long been focused on reducing our environmental footprint. In fact, nearly two decades ago, we installed state-of-the-art technology that eliminated more than 95% of the emissions produced by our facilities; it continues to best regulatory demands. Today, meeting—and often exceeding—environmental standards and guidelines are built into our business practices.
From internal processes to product development and performance, our sustainability efforts benefit our customers, downstream markets, employees and communities.
Company-Wide Efforts
Arclin developed a proprietary Green Sigma™ program, applying Six Sigma® quality assurance principles to assess and improve operations to meet stringent environmental criteria. We continuously seek recycling, reduction and efficiency improvements to lesson our environmental impact. Current efforts include:
Materials
- Raw paper for overlays derived from sustainable forestry practices. Our surfaces facilities in Tacoma, WA, Hayward, WI and Portland, OR are FSC chain of custody certified (SCS-COC-001423)

Customer Focus
For Arclin, our commitment to sustainability nets a triple bottom line effect, gaining environmental, social and economic benefits. For our customers, it also means opportunity. Resins and overlay materials meet or contribute to GREENGUARDSM certification, LEED points or are CARB Phase 2 compliant. H2S scavenger resins and dust suppression chemicals increase yield and reduce waste. Slow-release fertilizers reduce runoff and improve crop performance. We’re constantly working with our customers to help them meet demand and gain market advantage.

Arclin is constantly seeking new applications of its technologies to address market needs for better environmentally performing products:
Our chemical engineers have applied the same binding properties that make our resins among the best performing in the world to a liquid slow release fertilizer. The application binds to the soil to minimize run-off, leave more nitrogen in the soil and enhance plant growth and yield far exceeding traditional fertilizers
Arclin’s E-Sorb™ low-, ultra low- and zero-emitting resins leverage the inherent scavenging abilities of our chemical resins to significantly reduce or eliminate emissions. We’re now applying this same expertise to manufacturing processes for reclaimed woods to eliminate harmful emissions and help recycled sources meet modern environmental standards
We’ve applied the breadth of our expertise in bonding and surfacing to create a one-source solution to support the construction of cabinets, furniture, flooring and fixtures — that use sustainably harvested wood sources and are ultra low-emitting
