In Third-party Study, Arclin NitroGain® Slow Release Fertilizer Tops Benchmarks for Yield

NC State University Research Center Testing Confirms Product Advantages, Financial Benefit

ATLANTA, GA, April 7, 2021 – Arclin, a chemistry-based manufacturer of engineered products for the building, transportation, agriculture and other industries, today announced the results of a months-long testing of its NitroGain® Liquid Slow Release Nitrogen Fertilizer. Data show advantage in yield, weight and moisture content over competitor products.

In the spring of 2020, Arclin commissioned the North Carolina State University Vernon G. James Research Center in Plymouth, NC, to execute a series of tests evaluating Arclin’s 28% nitrogen blend of NitroGain slow release fertilizer. The tests were led by Associate Professor Ronnie W. Heiniger, Ph.D., and measured for yield, weight and moisture content with corn, wheat and soybean crops. For the corn and wheat crops, the other products in the tests included UAN, ESN, and a control. For the soybean crops, the other products included AMS, ESN, 10-27-0, and a control. The tests were conducted from March through May in 2020 under normal conditions.

“NitroGain performed better than other conventional products in the study,” said Dr. Heiniger, confirming the study’s results. Crediting the product’s unique chemistry, he noted, “NitroGain’s chemistry allows application directly to foliage. It blossoms at rates higher than traditional urea — and without burning. As a result, we observed enhanced growth, greater yields and healthier plants than with other products in the study.”

“Triazone, a low-volatile, safe and stable source of slow-release nitrogen, gives NitroGain its powerful advantage,” said James T. Wright, Ph.D., Vice President of Research & Technology at Arclin. “Its closed-ring structure provides a strong chemical bond that’s hard to break down, so it takes soil microbes 8 to 12 weeks to slowly and steadily release nitrogen into the soil, and you have the nitrogen available when the plant needs it.” Other unique NitroGain features include a low salt index and low biuret.

Because of their slow release properties and chemical structure, Arclin’s NitroGain fertilizers offer significant environmental benefits, which Heiniger also noted in his summation. The product’s soil binding properties minimize fertilizer run-off into the ground. leaving more nitrogen in the soil to enhance plant growth and reduce waste and runoff.
