Nomex® garments
Nomex® Nano Flex LAM AIR hood
The Nomex® Nano Flex LAM AIR is a pioneering range of laminates featuring the Nomex® Nano Flex barrier, combined with a newly patented lamination technology that traps air within the laminated structure. Designed specifically for emergency response (ER) hoods, this innovative technology maintains the full performance of the laminate—ensuring comfort, durability, and stretch—while creating an air cushion between layers. These air cushions enhance breathability by reducing adhesive use and improve thermal protective performance (TPP) by providing additional insulation, making it an ideal choice for demanding firefighting environments.

Jacket & Pants
First garment range made with 30% post-consumer recycled content. Aramids are among the fibers with the highest environmental impact due to their durability and manufacturing process. Therefore, in line with Iturri’s circular strategy, it is crucial to reduce the environmental impact of its garments. Protective garments made of Nomex® fabric were carefully collected, sorted, and dismantled. The dismantled fabric was recycled and used to make yarn and fabric again. The result was a fabric with 30% recycled post-consumer Nomex®. These garments with recycled content are currently in use, and the process has scaled to an industrial level. It is an innovative solution within the industrial garments business.

13G A5 Cut-Resistant FR Neoprene Arc-Flash L2 Glove (FJE3480)
Built on the inherent protection of aramid fibers, we engineered a 13-gauge liner with zoned stitch density and controlled tension to lower bending stiffness and enhance fingertip tactility—while maintaining A5 cut and Arc-Flash Level 2. A thin FR chloroprene micro-foam palm adds self-extinguishing performance, limits melt-drip, and provides durable grip in dry to lightly oily conditions. The knit-and-coating synergy delivers a noticeably softer, more agile glove that reduces hand fatigue and extends service life in precision electrical tasks.
13G A5 Cut-Resistant Core-Spun (Steel-Core) Nitrile Foam Glove (NJE3560)
An in-house core-spun architecture keeps the steel filament safely inside the yarn, eliminating the “poke” issue while preserving a thin, agile 13G fit with cotton-like comfort and moisture uptake. The soft, durable nitrile micro-foam adds reliable dry/oily grip and wear life, delivering high cut protection with better hand feel and user acceptance.

Has touch screen capabilities and can be incorporated with W+R glove care laundry system.
FR Fleece Ground Winter Glove with Kevlar®
This new winter glove fills a gap in our line-up to provide a lighter winter glove with high (A5) cut protection. Historically, Youngstown offered only heavy winter gloves for extreme freezing temperatures. While these gloves are protective and warm, they tend to have a lot of bulk to them. Our core customer wanted warmth and protection but with greater dexterity. Further, this glove is ideal for cool, cold weather rather than freezing. We anticipate greater acceptance throughout the US rather than in only the northern climates.
Secondary Expertex Hybrid made with Nomex®
This is a Nomex® top of hand with a sheepskin palm for use as a “protector” or “over” glove following the ASTM 3258 standards. The Nomex® is particularly important in this design as it is replacing the regular leather top of hand which had been used for decades. The Nomex® fabric offers much greater flexibility and a light weight feel compared to traditional leather. Further, it is obviously more consistent than a natural hide and boasts inherently flame resistant properties. This glove is going to significantly increase the dexterity and comfort for workers who use Class 0 & 00 rubber insulating gloves, allowing them to complete high-dexterity tasks while still maintaining electrical protection.
